Alumna Sally Greenaway Visits HS Concert Band Students

On June 3, the HS Concert Band had a visit from a former AIS Vienna student Sally Greenaway. She attended AISV from Kindergarten - Grade 3 in 1990 - 1993. Today, she is a multi-award-winning composer living in Canberra, Australia. She has earned herself the reputation of being a versatile and diverse musician, having worked as conductor/musical director, jazz and classical pianist, music lecturer/teacher, and composer/arranger. Sally told our students how her musical journey began, how she studied to be a composer, and what life is like as a freelance composer. Students also asked her questions about her professional life and inspiration as well as had the possibility to listen to some of her works.

This is one of the many ways our teachers create experiential learning opportunities for our students to aspire, to pursue their passions, imagine possibilities, and make them real.
