China Meets Austria

The AIS Vienna Instrumental Music Department was honored to take part in a Chinese Cultural Exchange before our February Break.

On Sunday, February 18 our combined MS Advanced and HS Concert Band students took part in the annual China Meets Austria concert series held in the Musikverein. Congratulations to our talented instrumental musicians who were able to perform in this historic concert hall.

On February 15, as part of this Chinese Cultural Exchange, around 45 Chinese students from Beijing Huijia Private School performed traditional Chinese folk music for our entire Middle School in the AIS Vienna Theater.

We have been a part of this yearly event since it started in 2011. These events were organized by a Chinese Cultural Exchange agency that brings student orchestras, choirs, and bands from Chinese schools to Europe for a week-long tour culminating with gala concerts in Vienna. 

We are so fortunate to be able to use the city of Vienna as our extended campus, with its many cultural offerings, enabling students to pursue their passions, imagine possibilities, and make them real.
