Design Your Own Skatepark

On Friday, September 29, our Grade 6 STEM elective students traveled to Währinger Skatepark to gather information and ideas on what type of elements they might include in their own skatepark designs. While there, they were extremely lucky to have met Kristopher, a local skater and skatepark fanatic. He spoke with the students about what makes a superior skatepark: a variety of elements made with different types of materials, a prepared flow, and of course it should be challenging and fun. The students really enjoyed their time there and will now incorporate their experience into their designs.

This is just one of the many ways the city of Vienna makes up our extended campus and allows us to create authentic learning experiences.

We can’t wait to see what they come up with!
