ES International Day

Today, October 18, our AISV Elementary School celebrated International Day. Elementary School students began the day with an assembly focused around our school’s theme of Belonging. The assembly began with a wonderful flag parade, where our Elementary School learners showed off their self-made created flags representing their ties to different nations or regions around the world. The assembly also included various grade level instrumental concerts, dances, and poetry, as well as a very special traditional Chinese dance put on by two of our AISV community members. It then closed with all Elementary School students performing our AISV song together.

The assembly was followed by a variety of international day-themed activities and presentations, including parent-led country workshops, offering students the chance to immerse themselves in diverse cultures and explore their connections to the countries represented at AISV, whether it be their birthplace or a place they have called home.

The events of the day culminated in a shared International Day Lunch at each grade level, where parents brought a national dish that reflected a place they feel a sense of belonging to.

Thank you to our student MCs, along with the many teacher and parent volunteers who made the learning come alive for students.

In case you missed International Day, you can still watch the wonderful performances here:
