Grade 3 Welcomes a Special Guest

On November 4, Grade 3 students welcomed special guest, Mr. Bene Bauer, a pilot for Condor, previously for Lufthansa and Austrian Airlines.

Mr. Bauer gave a special talk about meteorology to our Grade 3 students, who have begun their studies on weather and climate. Students have measured and analyzed weather data using weather tools in the outdoor classroom. They have begun designing and will soon be constructing city systems that limit the impact of severe weather such as flooding.

Mr. Bauer connected his work as a pilot with this Grade 3 unit of study, to talk about the important impact weather has on jobs, travel, and city design.
