IB Theater Students Travel to London

Last week, our IB Theater students traveled to London for the first in-person International School Theatre Association (ISTA) trip since 2019!

The students worked for three days with industry professionals exploring different world theater traditions, such as Bharatanatyam and British Pantomime, as well as engaging in practical workshops such as staging play texts and collaboratively creating original theater.

The directors and performance creators from theater companies 'Smoking Apples' and 'Moon Fool' were able to guide the students through some truly creative practical experiences which will last in their memories for years to come.

This was tied together with workshops on how to draw their learning and experiences together to create meaningful moments that can be used and developed in the creation of their IB Theater coursework.

The evenings were spent watching live theater from the heart of London's glittering West End as they were able to experience a performance of 'Dear Evan Hanson' and 'The Crucible' at The National Theatre.
