Re-Accredited!
Great news! We are thrilled to share that AISV has officially received International Re-Accreditation from the Council of International Schools (CIS) following the recent Team Evaluation visit. This achievement reflects our school’s commitment to continuous growth and excellence in international education.
The CIS global membership community comprises over 1,500 schools and universities across 120 countries. We are proud to be part of this network that fosters socially responsible global citizens through international education, connecting ideas and cultures worldwide.
As part of the report, the evaluating team has reviewed and accepted our school profile (mission and purpose) as a reflection of our school’s unique context and history. They have also acknowledged our Community Survey data, including insights on our school’s learners and broader community. Additionally, the financial information provided has been accepted as evidence of sustainable financial management and planning practices. Finally, the CIS Evaluating Team has endorsed the school’s interpretation of the CIS Community Survey findings and the actions taken in response.
The evaluation team visited from January 19-24, and included seven trained peer evaluators (four from CIS and three from Middle States Association). They analyzed the school's self-study report, reviewed evidence, met with stakeholders, observed classrooms and daily operations, and developed a report with commendations and recommendations for continuous improvement.
The accreditation framework includes eight domains with specific standards for excellence in international schools, guided by four key areas: purpose/direction, learning/teaching, global citizenship, and well-being.
AISV earned the following in the 57 standards within the eight domains, with 40 met, 14 standards exceeded and no standards rated as partially met.
The next step for AISV is to thoroughly review the 43-page report, reflecting on the commendations and recommendations for each standard, and begin charting a course that will launch next year and extend into our next five-year Strategic Plan. This will allow us to continue refining and strengthening our school improvement efforts. We are excited by the affirming nature of the report and the meaningful work ahead as we turn recommendations into real, impactful actions. In the spirit of our Core Value Aspire, we will pursue our passions, imagine the possibilities, and make them real!
