Our Green Campus: A Place for Students and Nature to Grow

In response to strong student support, the Annual Fund purchased materials for the HS Gardening Club to action a campus beautification project, beginning with the Garden of Peace & Reflection.

A favorite spot on campus for many students and teachers is the Garden of Peace & Reflection, which centers around rocks from the former Mauthausen concentration camp, the largest of its kind in Austria during World War II. The garden serves as an inspiration to reflect upon past events, contemplate present conditions, and aim for a brighter future.

In response to strong student support, the Annual Fund purchased materials for the HS Gardening Club to action a campus beautification project, beginning with the Garden of Peace & Reflection. After clearing the plot and weeding out old roots, a variety of hyacinths, daffodils and tulip bulbs were planted, and are now happily awaiting spring bloom in late March and April.
