Grade 6 Service Learning
On February 7, Grade 6 students were excited to continue the meaningful tradition of contributing to Billy Boxes for the Ute Bock Wohn-und Integrationsprojekt.
Students took a hands-on approach by collecting boxes and going on a special shopping trip, where they collectively purchased items for their boxes, fostering a sense of responsibility and empathy towards those in need.
These Billy Boxes will be delivered to the Ute Bock Wohn-und Integrationsprojekt, a local organization dedicated to supporting asylum-seekers arriving in Austria, often in dire circumstances. Ute Bock offers assistance in language learning, cultural adaptation, housing, regular meals, and legal matters, providing crucial support to those navigating the complexities of seeking asylum.
Embracing the spirit of generosity and compassion, our Grade 6 students have been actively participating in this tradition since 2001. This tradition not only embodies the values of empathy and kindness, but also offers a tangible way for our students to make a positive impact on the lives of those in need.
This is one of the many ways in which we empower each student with the skills and character strengths necessary to be positively impactful global citizens.
