Manga and Literature at MAK

On Tuesday, April 22, 2025, our Grade 11 German A Language and Literature students visited the Museum of Applied Arts in Vienna (MAK). 

Students had the opportunity to learn more about the topic of shōjo manga and explore this unique art form, which inspired one of the novels read in class, Kitchen by Banana Yoshimoto. The guided tour also included workshop materials that students used to further their understanding of specific manga techniques.

This is one of the many ways we are able to use the city of Vienna as our extended campus, with its many cultural offerings and unique learning opportunities.
