MS Science Fair Symposium
On Tuesday, March 11, our Middle School celebrated their annual Science Fair Symposium! At this event 6th, 7th, and 8th graders who participated in the Science Fair trimester class had the opportunity to showcase their innovative projects and engage with an audience ready to ask them questions.
Attendees were excited to learn about topics like the effects of video games, reading, and chess on people's memory and other cognitive abilities, launching a bottle rocket and lessons learned in that process, whether football or basketball training result in higher jumps and faster reaction times, growing food and rotting fruit, correlating taste with color, along with other creative explorations. Students have been defining hypotheses and problems, identifying variables, and creatively building or inviting others to be their human subjects as they became immersed in the scientific and engineering processes for the last 12+ weeks.
This was a valuable learning experience to conclude our MS Science Fair trimester class. Some students will go on to present their work at the Vienna Science Fair in April.
